Mr. Habal performed an operation on my left eye in 2016 to close a hole in the macula. I had very poor vision before the operation and now the sight in that eye is much better, I just have a little bit of distortion but I can cope with that. I’m extremely grateful to Mr. Habal for what he did for me.
I had 5 retinal detachments affecting both eyes over 9 months. I was told I wouldn’t read beyond the third line of a sight chart. I got my driving license back in April 2016, 2.5 years after the second eye detached and tore for the 1/3 times. Mr. Habal carried out most of my operations and I believe the amazing eyesight I have now is due mainly to his ability as a surgeon and his post-op care and advice. My eyesight before the tears and detachments was not bad, a bit short-sighted and, amazingly, I feel it is better than before. I was so so lucky that Mr. Habal was my surgeon on the NHS.
